Sketch Sunday (Sept. 06, 2026)

September 6, 2026

I have a few behind the scenes doodles for you this week, including one that is a bit of process.

Sometimes I just like drawing characters from stuff I like. Peter Weller as Robocop is a great satirical movie and during the pandemic Mr. Weller got…bored(?) and got his doctorate in art history. I highly recommend following him here on Instagram.

“Dead or alive…you’re critique-ing with me.”

Next is my newest process. I work out ideas in my sketchbook and I used to re-do the drawing on bristol board or similar and ink it. Now, I just scan in the sketchbook drawing and “ink” it digitally. Not as tactile as I like but it is very handy and saves me time. Also, I don’t have as much stuff to store and I can save the paper for actual art to sell. This is the sketch I did for this week’s Friday Thoughts. (See the final drawing HERE.) You can see that even before digital alterations, I go at the drawing with ballpoint and whiteout like a maniac.

You’d think I would know how to do the hat by now.

And finally, my emotional state most of the time now.

Paintmonkey HATE modern society and it’s inevitable collapse!

May you have had a restive weekend. I hope you have tomorrow off and enjoy a little more. I also hope you pissed off a magat
