“DRAIN THE SWAMP!”
Sir David Attenborough voice: “listen carefully and you can hear the screeching-ly ignorant cry of the North American Jabbering Pinhead. Used simultaneously as a mating call and a challenge for combat, they are not a species long for this earth. Fortunately, their inevitable extinction will not be a loss to the world.”
The funniest thing about this era is he will never know how good at metaphors he really is. He’s not smart enough. He never was. But right now, after years of hearing him crow “drain the swamp” like an over caffeinated and lobotomized rooster, he has made the perfect visual encapsulation of his entire being. Just a stagnant and corrupted body that is costing the public more and more with every passing day.
I told a friend this is all just the cherry on my anger sundae. Every single thing done is just self serving and done so wrong that it ends up being more of a mess than was being “solved”. Reflecting pool is just the perfect example. “It was leaking.” Yes. By design. That’s the system by which water stays clear in a reflecting pool. It’s NOT a swimming pool. By treating it as such, you sealed it so the water just sits. And stagnates. And grows super blooms of algae. Turning the former Reflecting pool into…wait for it…a swamp. Now their solution is to dump a ton of hydrogen peroxide into the water, which DOES kill the algae. However the dead algae release phosphates…which grow more algae. Oh! And the hydrogen peroxide is causing the paint they smeared all over to peel off in big ugly chunks. And it only cost nearly 8 times more than they said it would. All just in time for America’s big two five oh. Cool. Coolcoolcool…
That is why I am so angry. It just keeps going. The Iran “deal” is an absolute pile of garbage that cost us $300 billion immediately and then Iran has the rights to start charging for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. That’s new! How much is it costing tax payers patch the holes in the marble on the Kennedy Center? Everything touched ends up dying and WE have to pay for it. All of these “hidden fees” aren’t going into OUR pockets. I am so very tired of now.
I will leave on a happy note and say Happy Juneteenth, everybody! A holiday that well and truly should be celebrated. Have a safe weekend, everybody.
